As one of my favorite holidays approaches, I often think about the many things that I am thankful for. This week the Bright Futures Campaign celebrated raising 150,999 dollars that will go straight to Frankie Lemmon to benefit the children. I am thankful for every person that donated and that will continue to donate to this place that I call home. This past week in the classroom, it was filled with cooking and practicing our turkey songs for the family feast tomorrow. The children really loved making our Hay stacks! Thank you so much to Ella's mom for sending in the wonderful goodies to make these yummy treats!
This week we worked with the tap-it and did many activities with it. We did an activity with counting turkeys and the children really loved it! The tap-it is a big motivator in our classroom and I try to use it at least once a week. We also read a book about food and colors. The children got to try the different kinds of foods as we read the book. Trying the lemon was our class favorite! Special thanks to David's mom and James mom for providing the fruit to go along with our book!
-Suzann A Few New Changes Now that October is over we have added a few new things into our classroom. Every morning the children get to pick how they want to be greeted. We added the turkey greeting this week as you can see below. David is modeling our gobble gobble hat! We also added corn in the sensory table. The children really love dumping and pouring the corn! Happy Halloween from the Fours! Rosie the Therapy dogThis week we enjoyed our time with Rosie. She came in her pumpkin costume and the kids loved brushing her and feeding her treats. Pumpkin Carving This week after talking about Halloween and pumpkins we decided to get our hands dirty and carve a pumpkin. Many of the children enjoyed getting their hands dirty, eating the pumpkin seeds and carving the pumpkin! Trick-or-Treating One of my favorite times of the year is Halloween! All the children came dressed so cute and did great trick-or-treating around the church. The children went to many different doors around the church and went trick-or-treating. The children enjoyed a party in the afternoon with some from treats that our families made! I want to thank everyone that came and participated in the trick-or-treating and the party. It can't be done without the help from our wonderful parents! Thank you so very much!!
